About This Line
The Green Line's trunk section connects the northern suburbs through Cambridge and downtown Boston to Kenmore. With historic streetcar heritage, the Green Line is the oldest light rail rapid transit line in the US. The trunk serves major cultural institutions and connects to four branches.
Stations
1. Park Street
Park Street is a major downtown hub serving Boston Common, the Freedom Trail, and Public Garden. Transfer point to Green Line.
2. North Station
North Station is a major transit hub serving TD Garden (Celtics/Bruins), with Commuter Rail and Green Line connections.
3. Haymarket
Haymarket serves the historic produce markets and gateway to North End Italian neighborhood.
4. Medford/Tufts
Medford/Tufts is a Green Line station. Northern terminal of the Green Line Extension (opened 2022). Direct access to Tufts University campus in Medford.
5. Ball Square

Kenmore is a Green Line station. Kenmore station is the gateway to Fenway Park (home of the Red Sox), Boston University, and the Lansdowne Street entertainment district. Branch point for Green Line B, C, and D.
